Asma Zafar has completed a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Computer Systems from NED University, Karachi, Pakistan earning a Gold medal. Asma started her career in programming in a leading software house in Pakistan reaching the level of Senior Applications Analyst. After her move to the UAE 17 years ago, she has raised family, volunteered in Mother-Toddler groups and schools and undertook newsletter editing for several years. She joined Al Yasat as a supply teacher first in 2008 and then designed and developed the library system and worked as a librarian and resources manager for two years. She did some more cover work in 2012 before taking up her current role of Administrator/ICT Facilitator. She has been extensively involved along with the Principal in collection, collation and analyses of all assessment data since then. This includes the production of all data and stakeholders’ documents and has also been solely involved in the regular analysis of attendance data. Her responsibilities include communication with all staff and parents via email and SMS. She is currently working on SIMS, the school's management information system. Her personal interests include reading, travelling, horse riding and spending time with family and friends.
Tonya Traylor has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Broadcast Management/ Mass Communications plus several years of professional experience in: marketing, brand development and representation, social media networking, event planning and production, journalism, video production, magazine production/distribution and customer/public relations. Tonya has worked in front and behind the camera and her credits include: Host for “Varsity Brain Bowl” an educational television game show aired on PBS Television for 2 years Producer of 3 nationally distributed film projects distributed on Dvds: “Comedy Explosion” for Blackcat Entertainment and “SOUNDOFF USA” Volume 1& 2 for Pandisc Media. Produced a specialty automobile magazine and cable tv show, entitled “Riding Out” A Regional 3 year ad campaign for “Tobacco Free Florida” Performed as understudy and the lead role in the National Touring Company of “David Talbert’s” production of Telling It Like It Tiz.
Dhanurdharan comes from the land of Promise, India. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He has held the position of audit assistant in a chartered accountant firm in Kerala, India for two and a half years before moving to the UAE. Dhanurdharan has been recruited to Al Yasat Private School as Assistant Accountant.
Julian Thomas has had a passion for Computers, Arts and Graphical Illustration and completed a Bachelor of Visual Communication from the University of Madras. After completing his degree Julian began his career as an IT Support/Graphic Designer. After working for a couple of years Julian pursued further study and completed an Advanced Diploma in Graphic Designing. Further developed his skill in creative design skills. This is Julian’s first appointment in the U.A.E.
Thabet Obeidat has a B.A degree in counseling and mental health graduated from University of Jordan 1999 and has been working in the field of student services since 2000. After five years in Jordanian schools, he shifted to join the Emirate of Abu Dhabi community from 2005. Thabet has more than 13 years of experience inside the UAE with my wife and four kids, helping and supporting school environments to gain more developed skills and increase students awareness toward the best of their shining future. Thabet collaborates with educators, parents, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school and the community helping students and youth succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally.
Dr. Abdulsalam Khalif, born in Syria, is an expert in the field of sociology. He earned his Ph.D. from Damascus University, where he grew up and received his education. After graduating, he worked for three years in the humanitarian field with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), providing valuable services in this area.
Dr. Khalif then transitioned to working with United Nations schools (UNRWA) as a psychosocial counselor for over six years, offering significant support to students and their families. In 2023, he moved to Sharjah to work in schools as a social specialist.
Currently, Dr. Khalif is a member of the Al Yasat Private School family, serving as a social specialist. He is eager to work with a dedicated and enthusiastic team to create a safe and motivating environment for all students and to build genuine partnerships with parents to enhance student support.
