Students enter primary school at the end of kindergarten. The duration of study in any primary school in the UAE is five years, from first grade to fifth grade.

Al Yasat School is a private primary school in Abu Dhabi that offers well-resourced learning environments. These resources are carefully designed to provide students with a range of age-appropriate activities, including sensory integration activities. All classrooms are equipped with smart interactive whiteboards and modern teaching facilities.

Al Yasat School's teaching assistants provide support to primary teachers in delivering the curriculum in the classroom. Specialist teachers at Al Yasat School teach Arabic and Islamic Studies (for Muslim students), UAE Social Studies, Music, and Physical Education programs. These programs are supported by dedicated classrooms for ICT, Music, Physical Education, and Food Technology.

The English Language Arts program at Al Yasat Elementary Private School aims to develop listening, speaking, and writing skills in English, as well as improve accuracy, fluency, and comprehension. This program is designed in line with the American Common Core State Standards. Emphasis is placed on the "Speaking for Writing" strategy to develop the ability to use language consistently and construct sentences correctly.

Al Yasat Private School encourages students to undertake subject-related experiential projects to enhance their understanding of the curriculum. Students learn a variety of experiences related to science, social studies, and the Personal, Social, Health, and Economic Education program through integrated study units that aim to stimulate inquiry, increase participation and interaction, and develop 21st-century skills.
