Job Description
Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs of students Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students Prepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of the immediate supervisor Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with the goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects to communicate these objectives to students Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provides and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required Identifies the learning problems of students on a regular basis and seeks the assistance of specialists as required Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct as well as develops reasonable rules for classroom behavior and procedures while maintaining order in the classroom in a fair and just manner Makes provisions for being available to students and parents for educational related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms (Open House, Parent/Teacher conferences, etc.) Strives to maintain and improve professional competence Cooperates with the administration in planning and participating in appropriate in-service training programs at the school Shares responsibility during the school day for the supervision of all students in all areas of the school Continues professional growth through attendance at workshops, seminars, conferences, and/or advanced coursework at institutions of higher learning Collaboratively partners with Technology teachers to integrate cross-curricular learning opportunities Exhibits effective classroom management strategies and skills Monitor, inventory, and organize a variety of classroom supplies, resources, and materials Embraces new STEM programs that support department vision and goals Delivers STEM oriented instruction through project based learning Open to learning new and innovative strategies to prepare students for the 21st Century Has experience with designing and executing lessons centered on STEM learning Demonstrates knowledge and willingness to integrate STEM, Robotics, Coding, and additional 21st Century best practices to ensure students are college and career ready Provides motivation for students to learn and engage in STEM careers All other duties as assigned Candidate should be familiar with computer programs (LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3) that enable students to build and test LEGO robots.

Job Description
Counseling · Provide individual planning sessions to students in the areas of academic planning and success, career awareness and social/emotional development, in accordance with planned objectives for grade level. · Conduct structured goal-oriented counseling sessions in systematic response to identified needs of groups of students. Themes include academic skill building, social skill development, career awareness, conflict resolution, and making healthy choices. · Assist in the transition from middle school to high school and to post-secondary education. · Interpret tests, student data, and other assessment results appropriately. · Provide individual counseling in response to student requests. Consulting · Provide information and skills to parents, school staff, the administration and the community to assist them in helping students in academic, career and social development. · Take a leadership role in the infusion of counseling content into the curriculum, staff development and parent education programs. · Assist parents in addressing school related problems and issues. · Inform students and their parents as to pertinent test results and their implications for educational and career planning. Coordinating · Promote the liaison and coordination of school activities and resources, and communication between and among home, school, and community. · Advocate for equal access to programs and services for all students. · Plan and coordinate programs such as career and college fairs, scholarships, and other extensions of the counseling curriculum. · Coordinate parent education programs to assist students in making a smooth transition from elementary to middle school, middle school to the high school and in planning post high school options. Curriculum Management · Design, deliver, evaluate and revise a planned sequential and developmentally appropriate school counseling curriculum to include lessons in academic success, career awareness and planning, and personal/social growth and understanding. · Deliver the curriculum in a systematic manner using diverse strategies and settings. · Facilitate the instructional process in collaboration with school and community resources. Individual Planning · Systematically develop and evaluate planning for high school and post high school on an annual basis. Managing · Establish a planning calendar for activities. · Plan, implement, maintain and evaluate the systems necessary for the support, maintenance and improvement of the school counseling program.
